‘Music on My Mind’ is Sydney’s campaign to raise funds and awareness for mental health in the music community, run by electronic music platform Rave Reviewz!

 Music on My Mind: Stream for Mental Health Event

On World Mental Health Day, Rave Reviewz teamed up with some of Sydney’s best House & Techno brands for a quality livestream fundraiser.  The DJs performed live from Club 77 on Saturday 10th October, to a global online audience through partners ‘United We Stream’, attracting over 30,000 viewers in total!

‘Music on my Mind’ campaign director and psychiatrist, Doc Kamran gave some sobering insights on the night also.  He discussed rates of mental illness in the music industry, why working in the industry takes a toll on mental health and the impact of the tragic suicide of Sydney promoter: Paul Strange had on Sydney’s electronic music community.  Watch these insights at the start of each DJ set above to find out more.

 

Fundraising for this year’s ‘Music on my Mind’ is off to a great start with over $1000 raised by the Stream for Mental Health! Donations are open til the end of October here: tiny.cc/MoMM. 50% of all proceeds raised go to Support Act who help artists and music workers facing mental health problems and the rest will help with the costs of ‘Music on My Mind’ now and in the future.
