Turtlenecked will release a new LP called Vulture via Good Cheer Records this Friday, but you can get an early listen to the album now (see Hype Machine debut)….
Listen/Post Turtlenecked “Vulture” LP
With Vulture, Turtlenecked’s Harrison Smith has created a beautiful art punk album that envelops listeners in a world of manic romanticism. Regardless of if it’s Smith’s prolific nature, his undeniable musical ability or the standalone catchiness of the songs themselves, there’s something about Turtlenecked that makes any lyric or musical composition nearing self-indulgence or bourgeoisie instead steer into charming and charismatic territory. Despite being recorded entirely in Smith’s living room, Vulture sounds big, theatrical and developed. The album is an ambitious, compassionate work of baroque and roll that further asserts Turtlenecked as an ever growing entity, one very much deserving of attention.

Praise for “Vulture”
“Smith’s unflinching charisma guides the listener around manic and morbid themes, covering every inch of the emotional spectrum from severe to sweet.” – Hype Machine
“Vulture is Harrison Smith’s second proper full-length album as Turtlenecked following last year’s Pure Plush Bone Cage, which came out last August, and that accelerated release schedule mimics the freneticism of his music, which is an eclectic and spiraling blend of baroque art-rock.” – Stereogum
“…heavy on the guitar hooks and light on the acoustic fluff, with a hint of Wire’s baroque punk for good measure.” – clrvynt
“From his early bedroom recordings to the singles from his forthcoming album Vulture, Smith’s music exists at a crossroads between 1990s alternative emo and brutish art-punk.” – Portland Mercury
