Tigerilla lifts the covers off the video for groove laden summer single Money In My Jeans, featuring Muki.

In true Tigerilla style, the clip exhibits a fun, pop energy and features a young Pablo Escobar, bikes, planes, a classic convertible Mercedes, a mysterious brief case – and a liberal dose of double denim!

TIGERILLA RETURNS WITH GROOVE LADEN SUMMER SINGLE ‘MONEY IN MY JEANS’ FEATURING MUKI

Tigerilla returns with glorious new single Money In My Jeans, all hip-hop swagger and pop energy underpinned with his trademark electronic style.  It may well be the catchiest track you’ll hear all year – the perfect summer curtain-raiser.  “I got everything I need, I got money in my jeans, I got plenty for you baby, let’s just fly away for real …”

Tigerilla has enlisted vocal support from triple j Unearthed fave, Sydney songstress MUKI. He says, “Life is fun and this song is fun. I got MUKI on board because she is fresh and has her own unique ability to catch a vibe. The song went to a whole new dimension once she was on board.”

“Money In My Jeans was born about two years ago, but remained in its skeletal stage until only two months ago. My engineer James Angus was instrumental in bringing it to life.  The song is built on the premise that if you have $50 or a million, as long as you are happy and with the ones you love, you can live a life of prosperity! You might want to pop a bottle, but no one is telling you the bottle can’t be $7 on special or that your plane is actually a Fixie that you ride away on.”

Over the last few years, Tigerilla has emerged as a triple j favourite, and his video for 2016 single Tulips was nominated for a J Award. He has worked and toured with a diverse range of artists, from the likes of Mallrat and Gill Bates to Nicole Millar and Dominique Young Unique.

National Tour Dates Announced:

Sublimely talented singer songwriter, dance artist and producer Tigerilla is excited to reveal the video for new single, MERRYGO.  A quirky, catchy pop dance track featuring vocals from Dominique Young Unique, it is accompanied by a very unique / wonky video!

Tigerilla explains, “MERRYGO is the next evolution for Tigerilla. Using a similar sonic structure to my last single, this track is made to bang in a club or get wonky to whenever you hear it. Think NERD meets Azealia Banks. Most of the beat was made using cool retro outboard gear, which allowed me to make this track unique with the choice of sounds you hear. 

Dominique Young Unique features on the vocals with her attitude-ridden flow and charming delivery. Once DYU added her vocals to the track I immediately felt a spark that I felt needed to be shared with fans and listeners alike!

Here is MERRYGO, my very own wonky bass driven ear-worm.”

Tigerilla’s previous video, for single Tulips (ft. Gill Bates), was nominated for a J Award.

Tigerilla is at Australia’s forefront of a new wave of electronic production – mould-smashers like K-Flay and Anderson Paak inspire him right now, as do eternal genre-benders like Moby and Disclosure.  But his sound can’t entirely be attributed to them – it’s totally its own and it bends constantly, whilst always maintaining a hip-hop swagger, a pop energy and an electronic undercurrent.

Kicking off tomorrow, Tigerilla will take MERRYGO around Australia, starting with Groovin’ The Moo Adelaide and concluding in Brisbane on July 1st.
