SuperGlu  – Welcome Home – 28th July , 2017

Communion Singles Club – Stream/Buy Here.

“A band everybody will be talking about by the end of this year” – BBC Introducing

“Bands don’t come more instantly infectious than SuperGlu” – DIY

“Punk with a pop flourish. Matching askew melodies to some wry, acerbic lyrics, the whole package is shot-through with a punk energy” – Clash

SuperGlu are a four-piece formed in Britian’s smallest town, Manningtree. But far from being beset by any small-town mentality, SuperGlu arrive with big ideas, a big sound and an anthemic pop punk banger in new single, Welcome Home, through Communion Records as part of their Singles Club.

The band consists of brothers Benjamin  and Alex Brown (guitar), Krista Lynch (bass) and Ben Ward (drums). They can be identified neatly and concisely as: a regional champion disco-dancer, a reclaimed boat dweller, an abstract painter and a proclaimed pesto addict. This is a band of incredibly close friends/relatives, a gang – think The Ramones covering Japandroids, but with even more fun.

Having been championed by Huw Stephens, BBC Introducing and DIY Mag, the band travelled to SXSW this year and were hotly tipped as one of the ‘must see’ acts at the festival. This summer sees them take on Latitude and a number of London dates.

There is a spikiness and brat-like attitude on display, lyrics delivered with a snarl and swagger. When Brown sings “I can’t get over this feeling it’s so good” it’s not hard to see why SuperGlu are regarded as one of the UK’s best emerging live acts, with a natural gift for hooks and harmonies.

The new single follows their EP Horse and singles Dreams and Simmer Down (which was named as Huw Stephens’ BBC Introducing Pick Of The Week).

Welcome Home is the second release from Communion Records’ 2017 edition of their Singles Club.  The track will be available to stream from 9th June.  Vinyl will be available to buy from 28th July and can be pre-ordered from the Communion Records store here.

In keeping with Communion’s dedication to cutting edge visual artists, the artwork for the single was designed by illustrator Stephen Graham.

This year’s Singles Club releases are available to buy as a subscription from communionmusic.co.uk (for £20, which also includes a poster of the year’s singles, at the end of the year), as well as standalone vinyl releases, and of course on all digital platforms.
