They currently have artists such as Julian Jordan, Todd Helder, TV Noise, Dyro and Loopers under their wing and are still expanding rapidly.

The stage at Ultra Miami next year follows after STMPD stages at other festivals such as Tomorrowland, Balaton Sound and their own label night during Amsterdam Dance Event.

Brooks, Infuze & SLVR deliver second round of remixes of Martin Garrix feat. Mike Yung’s Dreamer

by the partae December 29, 2018
written by the partae
LISTEN HERE

Brooks’ chopped-up electro house version begins peacefully, building with muted keys and warm bass before exploding into a stuttering, euphoric groove. An epic main break makes good use of the melody before returning to the irresistible groove.

New York producer Infuze serves up a bright and breezy house number that combines classic stabby house chords with a plump bassline. He cuts up Yung’s ad-libs to great effect to provide another layer of rhythmic energy that really drives the track along.

SLVR gives the track one of his inimitable Booshi makeovers, taking it in a very different direction with those dark sounds. The breakdowns are tense and dramatic, and the resonating bass sounds of his killer groove is powerful and moody.

TOP 100 DJs POLL 2018 – THE RESULTS ARE IN!

MARTIN GARRIX WINS THE TITLE OF WORLD NO.1 DJ FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR!
www.top100djs.com
www.unicef.org.uk

EXCLUSIVE DJ MAG TV VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH WORLD NO.1 DJ MARTIN GARRIX:

The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll results are in. Dutch DJ/Producer Martin Garrix has retained the crown of ‘World’s No.1 DJ’ for a third consecutive year, since becoming the youngest ever to be voted the World’s No.1 DJ back in 2016.

In aid of UNICEF, the 2018 edition of Top 100 DJs marks the 25th anniversary of the globally celebrated poll. This year saw record numbers of voters with in excess of 1.2 million verified votes received, an increase of nearly 200,000 on 2017 being submitted during the 3 month campaign period — making it the biggest publicly-voted music poll in the world.

Martin Garrix received the award at the official DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Awards ceremony during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). The show took place at the Johan Cruijff Arena in front of a sold-out capacity crowd of 35,000 fans as part of the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), an initiative of ALDA Events and ID&T.

Few can argue about the irrefutable global reach of one of dance music’s most revered stars. The meteoric rise of the Dutch superstar Martin Garrix’s career has been nothing short of breathtaking, with the past 12 months being perhaps his finest year yet. Whether it’s with hit singles that include ‘So Far Away’ with David Guetta and ‘Ocean’ featuring Khalid, to his globetrotting touring diary that puts him at the top of the bill for the biggest festivals and events on the planet from Tomorrowland to Creamfields, to appearing at the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea or supporting popstar Justin Bieber on tour, the young Dutch native is rarely out of the public eye. This win means Martin Garrix becomes only the third DJ to have recorded three Top 100 DJs wins, aligning him with previous winners and fellow Dutch DJs Tiësto (3x) and Armin van Buuren (5x).

Other high entries in the 2018 Top100 DJs Poll includeTomorrowland residents and Belgian brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike who are a non-mover at #2 and again scooped the award for ‘Highest Group’. Trance don Armin van Buuren slipped one place, behind Hardwell [#3], to #4 but claims once more the category for ‘Highest Trance’artist. David Guetta [#5], Tiësto [#6], Don Diablo (‘Highest Future House’) [#7], Afrojack [#8], Oliver Heldens [#9] and Marshmello [#10] make up the remaining positions of the Top 10.

Australian sisters NERVO, are up 15 places to #27 this year, making them the highest ranked female DJs in the ranking. Next to them is hardstyle pioneer Headhunterz, who claimed the ‘Highest Hard’ award by landing at #28. This year’s ‘Highest Climber, powered by Beat Fever’ accolade goes to the Israeli psytrance duo Vini Vici [#34] who have made an undeniable mark on the festival circuit this past year.

A former No.1 DJ himself and still the reigning lord of the underground, Carl Cox is up 9 places at #53 and wins the ‘Highest Techno’ award this year. Melodic masked marauderClaptone was a new entry in the 2017 poll but is up 12 places this year landing at #57 and once again winning the ‘Highest House’ award. The reunion of EDM’s best-loved collective certainly didn’t go unnoticed by voters as the Swedish House Mafia claimed #63, earning the ‘Highest Re-entry’ award. Individually the Swedes also ranked at #58 (Steve Angello) and #41 (Axwell Λ Ingrosso).

With new entries from Breathe Carolina [#77], Adam Beyer [#79], Marco Carola [#86], Cedric Gervais [#87], to female artists being represented by artists such as MATTN #72 who won ‘Highest New Entry’, Nina Kravis [#97] and Alison Wonderland [#96], this year’s poll once again represents a varied selection of popular electronic music genres from house and big room EDM to techno and trance, as well as psy-trance to progressive house and drum & bass and hardstyle, with the inclusion of artists from countries as far and wide as Australia, Guatemala, Brazil, China plus many more.

The territory that yielded the highest number of votes was again the USA, with the UK, Brazil and Mexico ranking next, closely followed by the central European countries of Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Spain. Following the widening of the voting process using a 2FA SMS login option for markets without Facebook, there was a 28% increase in votes from China. This has undoubtedly helped the top two Chinese DJs — Carta [#73] and DJ L [#84] — climb 19 and 14 places respectively, while other areas in Asia— including Japan, Vietnam and Thailand — all saw similar increases.

Receiving votes from 179 countries, the Top100DJs is a definitive annual guide to the world’s most popular DJs and a living symbol of the strength and diversity of the global electronic music scene.  In ongoing efforts to build on the diversity of the poll, DJ Mag has partnered with Beatport who co-presented a Beatport Breakthrough Award, which was won by Brazillian DJ, ANNA. In the following weeks, DJ Mag & Beatport will announce the Alternative Top 100 DJs results, to highlight DJs from genres traditionally on the periphery of the global poll.

Top100DJs has always had charity beneficiaries, however, 2017 was a major escalation that saw UNICEF elevated to headline status. The partnership raised a total of £30,000, including a personal donation of £10,000 by DJ Mag. The fundraising for the 2018 campaign is on track to beat the previous total, with the full amount to be announced next month.

UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. Through the power and unity of music, the money raised through the Top100DJs Poll will support UNICEF to vaccinate children to protect them from deadly disease, provide life-saving food for malnourished children, train teachers and provide education, protect vulnerable children from violence and abuse and deliver humanitarian aid for children in danger from war and disaster around the world.

Vol. 2 of Martin Garrix & David Guetta’s So Far Away remixes is here

Vol. 2 of Martin Garrix & David Guetta’s So Far Away remixes is here

2018 gets off to a massive start with another slew of reworkings of Martin Garrix and David Guetta’s latest hit collaboration, So Far Away. These five artists provide a stunning array of sounds, and are all very much names to keep your ears on across the coming year.

Regularly releasing on STMPD RCRDS, CMC$ presents a beefed-up version of the original, keeping the structure similar but adding even more epic bombasticness. Latest STMPD RCRDS signee CODES channels pumping late-’90s speed garage on his rip-roaring remix. Curbi provides a manic interpretation whose banging beats and cartoon-sized bleep riffs provide an intense contrast to the vocals.

Also new on STMPD RCRDS is the Australian hook provided by duo Bad Decisions, who are going dark and dirty on their version of the track. Osrin serves up something truly different, with stumbling, drunken 8-bit melodies and chopped-up beats providing the backbone for this sweetly melodic experiment.

One thing is for sure, with the 2 remix packages there is truly something for everyone’s taste.

Martin Garrix & David Guetta Unleash New Track and Video ‘So Far Away’ Feat. Jamie Scott & Romy Dya

by the partae December 4, 2017
written by the partae
MARTIN GARRIX & DAVID GUETTA UNLEASH NEW TRACK AND VIDEO “SO FAR AWAY” FEAT. JAMIE SCOTT & ROMY DYA

Cast your mind back to August, when Martin Garrix rocked Tomorrowland’s mainstage with a set crammed full of exclusive new material. One of the highlights was when he brought out David Guetta to premiere their track ‘So Far Away’, which is out today on all digital service providers.

Listen Here

Watch Here

A particularly laidback offering from this powerhouse duo, the track features beautiful male and female vocals from Jamie Scott and Romy Dya. Melancholy guitar licks breathe life into the track as Scott’s gentle tones segue in. The bridge/chorus lays on dense layers of his vocal harmonies, and the teasing drop yields bombastic bass, kicks, vox synths and larger-than-life chords. Romy’s more urgent delivery provides a sweet counterpoint to Scott’s vocals, building the emotion and energy until they unite in melodic perfection. Stunning string arrangements deck out the outro and complete the perfect package.

The release is accompanied by an official music video, directed by Damian Karsznia, that shows two worlds: the world we live in and a world that displays feelings, thoughts, emotions and dreams. The storyline features a young couple who were once in love and are currently struggling with the fact that their relationship has ended. The different elements and objects used in the video create a powerful message that perfectly fits the energy of the song.

With over 13 million views of his Tomorrowland set already, Garrix has created the perfect platform for the success of So Far Away and has placed the song into his fans hearts in a big way. The track caused a huge splash amongst the press when the set appeared online, with DJ Mag stating, “featuring two of the EDM world’s brightest lights, So Far Away could well be the biggest such collaboration we’ve seen for some time yet” and Billboard reckoning that “it’s hard to imagine it won’t be a hit”. Further plaudits from several media marked this out as a surefire winner.

Martin Garrix collaborates once again with Russia’s finest Matisse & Sadko on Forever

Martin Garrix collaborates once again with  Russia’s finest Matisse & Sadko on Forever

Sony Music/STMPD RCRDS are back with another anthem from STMPD label boss Martin Garrix, once again in collaboration with standout Russian brother duo Matisse & Sadko. The result is Forever: an especially epic slice of dancefloor mayhem that’s bursting at the seams with euphoric goodness.

WATCH HERE

The glorious breakdowns are driven by commanding organ chords and decked out with melancholy guitar licks that recall sorrowful ‘80s pop-rock. The build-up is kept minimal before the mighty lead riff is unleashed, a resplendent and triumphant trancey refrain that’s super-polished. Gorgeous key changes meet us in the second break with a bigger snare build creating a tense sense of anticipation. Only a few elements are needed to create a full sound, such is this team’s production prowess and keen sense of arrangement. Less is more when you use the best ingredients and blend them perfectly.

It’s the fourth occasion Matisse & Sadko have collaborated with Garrix, following the wild success of Break Through The Silence, Dragon and Together, and they have also crafted dancefloor gold alongside Steve Angello. With remixes for Afrojack, millions of streams online and sets at Tomorrowland, Omnia Las Vegas and Usuhuïa to name but a few, they are rapidly rising through the ranks of the dance music scene.

It’s a big month for Martin Garrix, with two sold out shows during ADE at the gargantuan Amsterdam RAI and the following week at London’s legendary O2 Academy Brixton.

Martin Garrix returns to the Amsterdam RAI with an ”all ages” and ‘’18+’’ show during Amsterdam Dance Event

by the partae June 22, 2017
written by the partae
Martin Garrix will headline the Amsterdam RAI once again during Amsterdam Dance Event this year. On Friday October 20th he will return for an 18+ night, while on Saturday October 21st fans from all ages are welcome to attend. A unique chance for fans that would normally not be able to see him perform due to age restrictions at clubs and festivals. Both events will be produced by E&A Events.

Last year Martin Garrix’ two shows at the RAI were such a big success, with both of the shows selling out fast, a second edition seemed inevitable. Martin: ”Last year we did two sold out shows including my first ever all ages show. It was amazing to finally perform in front of all my young fans who are normally not able to attend the show. I’m so happy that we get to do it again this year!”

It’s easy to get lost in the numbers behind Martin Garrix’ meteoric rise – the 21 year old Dutch superstar has already set precedents and scored landmarks at every corner of the music industry. Martin has become one of electronic dance music’s youngest superstars, with his 2013 release of his smash hit ‘’Animals’’ topping the charts in late 2013 at the age of 17. But he hasn’t slowed down over the last years. With hits including ‘In The Name Of Love’, ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ and his latest collaboration with Troye Sivan ‘There For You’ he shows to not be slowing down anytime soon.
