HUSKY LOOPS share new video “Fading Out” & announce headline UK tour! Also on tour with Spoon & Placebo this month! New EP out now.

HUSKY LOOPS share new video “Fading Out” & announce headline UK tour! Also on tour with Spoon & Placebo this month! New EP out now.

Following on from a hugely successful support tour with Placebo, Husky Loops are sharing their new video for their recent single “Fading Out”, taken from their new EP, which is out now. The band will be playing shows with Spoon & Placebo this month and have also just announced a headline UK tour for February 2018

Directed by Tom Ringsby and filmed across London, the “Fading Out” video perfectly matches the enticing, punchy sounds of Husky Loops. Tom Rindsby & the band said the following about the video: “Inspired by the rhythm and the mechanical guitar riffs, we began transforming the ‘Fading Out’ into visual ideas of movement. Eventually we involved actor Sam Adamson in creating an abstract interpretation staged in the urban context the Loops daily inhabit.”

Husky Loops are a band set on breaking the rules, bending genre boundaries and stepping boldly into the unknown. Their new EP strikes a perfect balance between the unhinged nature of their live shows and the meticulous detail that goes into every one of their studio recordings. It’s messy but precise, fierce but mellow, it’s open but intriguing.  Far-out apocalyptic arrangements collide with oddball pop structures as the group continues to define and accomplish their incredible musical vision. Their new record ‘EP2’ is out now and available digitally and on 12″ vinyl.

Husky Loops have gained a lot of attention for their ferocious live show, having previously played hugely successful support slots for The Kills, Sunflower Bean, Yak & Estrons. Full upcoming live dates are below.

– Placebo, Superfood & Tigerclub support dates this Oct full UK tour this November!

With their new EP, ‘EP2’ set for release this Friday (Oct 6th), Husky Loops are sharing new single “Fading Out'” from the record. The band are also set to tour with Placebo this month, as well as playing shows with Superfood & Tigerclub, which will then be followed by a full headline tour across the UK in November.

Singer Danio explains the thoughts behind the new song: “‘Fading Out’ is about leaving home. It’s open to interpretation, like most of our lyrics, but the song was inspired by both break ups and Mediterranean migrants. Musically it was really influenced by hip hop, I was listening to a lot of Pusha T and Jeru the Damaja and it’s all about rhythm”

HUSKY LOOPS share new video “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World” & announce headline UK tour. New EP out Oct 6th!

HUSKY LOOPS share new video “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World” & announce headline UK tour. New EP out Oct 6th!

– Share new video “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World“
– Announce headline UK tour
– New EP ‘EP2‘ due Oct 6th

With their new EP due Oct 6th, Husky Loops are sharing the new video for their recent single “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World”. The trio have also just announced a headline tour for this November.

Director Tom Ringbsy explains the visuals “The video is based around a realisation called Sonder. That each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own – populated with their own ambitions, worries and inherent craziness – a million stories that continue invisibly around you in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee or staring at your phone on the bus.

The overcast sky fit the surprisingly optimistic track from Husky Loops, who have agreed to score my forthcoming Where’s Wally feature film project.”

Made up of Danio (vocals & guitar), Pietro (drums & samples) and Tommaso (bass), Husky Loops first met at school in Bologna, Italy. The trio relocated to London in order to continue their studies at Music College and the Royal College of Art, at which time they joined forces to form their ultimate creation.

Following the release of their debut EP earlier this year on Alcopop Records, which gained interest and attention for its unorthodox take on modern rock music, the band went straight back into writing and preparing for their next record. Husky Loops are set on pushing their sound to the sonic limits, twisting and distorting the music they make in order to tell different stories and journey into unexplored territories.

Whilst the band’s sound may feel like it’s rooted in pitch-black, industrial realms, Husky Loops’ draw influence from all ends of the musical spectrum, playing with hip-hop arrangements and R’n’B beats in their recording process. The trio find inspiration in everything from impressionist painters and orchestral composers to Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce, whilst also citing their experience of seeing Frank Ocean perform at this year’s Lovebox festival as a very important and inspiring moment.

Recorded at Mushroom Studio in the northern Italian mountains, Husky Loops forthcoming EP focuses on capturing the group’s striking live energy, exploring new styles and melodic patterns. Whilst musically the EP is based on stomping bass grooves and abrasive repetition, the majority of the record’s lyrics are about love and the many different forms in which it is found.

“Girl Who Wants To Travel The World” is about freedom and letting someone you love go, “Fading Out” is about being forced to leave home, whilst Secret “Matilda” is about obsession. Front-man Danio is a firm believer that love today can still be a very interesting concept, if it is revisited with a more modern perspective.

HUSKY LOOPS announce new EP & share first single ‘Girl Who Wants To Travel The World’. EP set for release Oct 6th & UK tour w/ Placebo this October!

HUSKY LOOPS

– Announce new EP entitled ‘EP2’
– Share first single “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World“
– EP set for release Oct 6th

– UK tour this October supporting Placebo

Having released their debut EP earlier this year, London-based trio Husky Loops return with news of their second EP, suitably entitled ‘EP2’, which is set for release October 6th. The first single from the record “Girl Who Wants To Travel The World” is streaming online now and the band are set to support Placebo on tour this October.

Made up of Danio (vocals & guitar), Pietro (drums & samples) and Tommaso (bass), Husky Loops first met at school in Bologna, Italy. Fifteen years into the future, the trio relocated to London in order to continue their studies at Music College and the Royal College of Art, at which time they joined forces to form their ultimate creation.

Following the release of their debut EP earlier this year on Alcopop Records, which gained interest and attention for its unorthodox take on modern rock music, the band went straight back into writing and preparing for their next record. Husky Loops are not ones for convention, and challenge themselves to learn something new every time they rehearse and jam. The band are set on pushing their sound to the sonic limits, twisting and distorting the music they make in order to tell different stories and journey into unexplored territories.

Music Interviews

HUSKY LOOPS

by the partae May 26, 2017
written by the partae

What is your name and role within the band?

Hi I am Danio and I am the Songwriter and Producer of Husky Loops. Sometimes I play guitar.

How did you start?

Husky Loops started because the three of us wanted to be in a band together and because we really liked each other shoes.

Where are you based?

South East London.

Please give an example of your music writing process?

We write differently every time. It’s very hard to pigeonhole our creative process so I’ll give you one example only:

“Tempo” started when by mistake or luck Pietro and Tom started playing the bass and drums groove together out of the blue and and we all got inspired. I wanted to put a jazz guitar line on top and it turned into that noisey guitar thing. Then I went home and wrote a topline and some lyrics about my family and the concept of time and added it on top. It took us one Sunday. Some songs can take months, some others half an hour.

What are you working on right now?

New material, new songs, new jams and also we are trying to make our live set even more exciting.

What is your gear setup?

Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals. Me and Tom (bass) use guitar pedals and Pietro (drums) used a spdsx too. Sometimes, I play the Piano because I LOVE it.

What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?

Personally I do very little outside of music and making only music inspires my music. Sounds stupid, but being around music all the time keeps me on a roll, I am lucky and I listen to music everyday. I like being obsessed. Right now I am in love and that affects my music too, makes me think more about emotions and less about the bass sound.

How would you describe your music genre?

It’s Husky Loops. We make the music we want to hear.

Do you know any music theory?

I do a bit, I went to uni, I had to but didn’t enjoy theory. Pietro doesn’t know it at all. I think Tom can read a bit really really slowly.

What are your plans for the future?

Create more and be happy, discover new things, jam more and play lots of gigs. We are playing so many gigs it’s great! Mainly tho I think we are keen on writing more material and see what we can do artistically, push each other into new challenges everyday.

How did you get into music?

My dad had a cd collection, I picked up a Jerry Lee Lewis record when I was 8 years old and from there I said goodbye to the world of normal people forever.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Hip Hop.

Who are your top 5 influences and icons?

Tough. Also these are mine, Pietro’s and Tom’s are so different:

Brian Wilson

Fela Kuti

Jack White

Madvillain

Luigi Tenco

Maybe…

When are you playing next?

We are about to play Dot to Dot festival in Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham and then we’re off to Europe, we are playing headlines shows in Paris and Berlin and we will open for the Kills in Prague, Leipzig and Copenhagen. Please, check all our shows on socials, it’s fun and they are all there.

Please feel free to include any extra info.

Two weeks ago I missed my plane because I went to Gatwick airport and I was meant to go to Luton. I hated the experience and myself, so I spent £16 on a burger and a coffee. The burger was rubbish. Eventually I ended up in the studio in Italy where I was meant to be and we finished mixing our new song. It sounds fantastic.
