Darius is among those young artists who make you realize how much the electronic music scene has entered a new era. Signed on Roche Musique in partnership with Animal63, Darius uses his machines like others once played their instrument to express their time and emotions.

If his first album ‘Utopia‘ is only made of synthetic material, it still evokes great soul and psychedelic records as well as contemporary electronic ones. Darius‘s new LP is sober; graceful and generous. It navigates between shapes and moods while staying faithful to only one principle, being an audible diary.

Yesterday, while announcing the pre-order of ‘Utopia‘, Darius took advantage of the new moon to unveil a new track, ‘Mountains‘, instrumental promise of the range of emotions he employed in his debut album.

LOST IN THE MOMENT – OCTOBER 5th 2017
DEBUT ALBUM “UTOPIA” – NOVEMBER 24th 2017

‘Lost In The Moment‘, featuring Wayne Snow, is the first single from Darius‘s debut album. After starting off alongside Roche Musique, he is now signed on record label Animal63, which was partly created by Manu Barron.
The track perfectly captures the essence of the album: plaintive and poignant, lead by a kind of tear-filled joy. The video was directed by Lisa Paclet, and follows two boys and a girl (young androgynous actress Raph, seen in Bruno Dumont’s ‘Ma Loute’) in a desert, then to the edge of a cliff. A synth-filled vertigo which ends in a water cave and perfectly illustrates the song’s leap into the unknown. In the tradition of Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, filters are laid down on a slow-paced boogie rhythm. Like a melancholy mantra, a looped vocal sample repeats the title.
