What is your name and role within the band?
I am 1/4 of the band, Cameron McCloud. Otherwise known as the very first human test subject of the Cure For Paranoia.
How did you start?
The idea for our band came about on a trip out to Colorado we took following a conspiracy theory that a meteor was headed for earth. We headed to Denver to get away from the blast radius, which is a bit ironic that without that paranoid delusion none of this would be possible.
Where are you based?
Dallas, Texas.
Please give an example of your music writing process?
Our good friend Paco Estrada said it best, “If you can take this shit you’re going through and make it into something else that someone can connect with it becomes something positive”. I write from experience mostly, I took the things that bother me and work through them in song, it’s therapeutic in a way. The way Tomahawk and J Analog make beats simply gives me a platform to speak on my revelations.
What are you working on right now?
Currently we’re working on spreading the cure one show at a time, one state at a time, one person at a time.
What is your gear setup?
Live we currently use duel ableton setups w/ 2 Maschines and a roland aira performance mixer. Our guitar player has a list of pedals he uses as well.
In the studio the it’s much longer…
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
J and Tomahawk may not agree with how much I do it, but I get A LOT of my inspiration from watching television and movies. I’ve always had a bit of an addiction to analyzing someone else’s story and comparing it to my own.
How would you describe your music genre?
About as Alternative as Alternative Hip Hop can get. Like if Erykah Badu was to somehow have a child with every member of the Gorrilaz and those children grew up and formed a band you’d end up with us.
Do you know any music theory?
I rely on the producers / session musicians for that, but would like to learn at some point.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on doing music for the rest of my life, and supporting my friends and family with my art. In the near future however we’re pressing up vinyls of this new album for everybody and saving the world.
How did you get into music?
I found out really on that it gave me a voice, and made me visible. Eventually you get tired of having nothing to say.

Lauryn Hill
Kendrick Lamar
Frank Ocean

Who are your top 5 influences and icons?
