Cathedrals spent the past year holed up in their basement studio writing a new collection of songs they have been sharing since April. Today sees the San Francisco band drop another gem – “Autumn Split”. The song, they note, “is about a relationship that comes and goes too quickly with the seasons and the struggle of letting go. It started out as a studio beat several years ago, but it wasn’t until we went on tour that our live band breathed a new energy into the song. So much of the new material evolved this way, going from a bedroom demo to the stage and finally into the studio. This one definitely touches upon our R&B influences. We hope you enjoy!”

Today’s single follows on the heels of the blissed out “With You” of which Idolator said is a “warm embrace of a pop song” going on to comment “notice how effortlessly it mashes synths and guitars.” Consequence of Sound declared the band “on a roll.” In May Cathedrals shared “Don’t Act Like A Stranger” and Billboard called it “triumphant” and Earmilk labeled it “awe-inspiring.” Kicking off this 2017 string of new music Catherdrals released “Try To Fight” which Consequence of Sound described as a “thumping, glittering dance pop track bursting with rich synthesizers and Jenkins’ powerfully sweet vocals.”
Cathedrals is producer Johnny Hwin and vocalist Brodie Jenkins.
