What is your name and role within the band?
Jaxon De Santis and I’m the Lead Guitarist in the band.
How did the band start?
A few artists from different bands came together to form the project around 2014.
Where are you based?
Darwin.
Please give an example of your music writing process?
It certainly varies from time to time, normally it’s Dylan (Lead singer) that comes up with a melody or riff. We then work together and connect the dots for the track and viola, we’ve had other ways but that’s the most common way
What are you working on right now?
Currently working on some new tunes.
How did you find the recording process?
It was pretty straight forward, although our track “Arrow Holder” was written as were literally in the process of recording tracks which made for a unique writing process.
How you wanted the EP/album/single to sound at first, how that changed during recording?
Good question, obviously there’s a little difference between the live sound and the recorded product. The blending together of the instruments and vocals really came together for a nice finish where initially I was expecting a more live sound but I’m quite happy with this result. The sounds of the guitars (more for the lead guitar) were compressed really nicely which helps cut through the mix and give the songs some real character.
Stories from recording/writing?
Realizing that we wrote “Arrow Holder” with a little bit of a time limit, although we all back it in 100% on how it turned out in the end. Also recording “2:35” was quite hard for me and Dylan, there was no tempo so we had to really concentrate and pay close attention to each other to get it right!
What is your gear setup?
Amp: Line 6 Combo
Pedals: MXR Analogue Chorus
MXR OD – 50
Boss Equalizer
Ibanez Tube Screamer

I need so much more stuff, we all do right?
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
I do enjoy sports very much and I always imagine one of our tracks being played in AFL Grand Replays or anything awesomely shot ion slow motion. Doesn’t really affect the music, we make what we want to make and if it gets used for whatever reason that makes us happy.
How would you describe your music genre?
Indy, Poppy, Groovy and freshhhhhhh.
Do you know any music theory?
A very small bit, would love to explore more and put some solid time into studying it eventually. I believe it would open up my capabilities
What are your plans for the future?
Continue to create music with the boys and show it to the world. Travel, work and just keep enjoying myself, life is good.
How did you get into music?
Considering that both sides of the family are quite strongly musically orientated. I started quite late. I started playing at 16 because I listened to Silverchair’s album “Frogstomp” for the first time in ages and I completely immersed myself in it because I was simply obsessed.
What are you listening to at the moment?
Right this moment? Frogstomp.
If you mean recently, lots of Ben Howard and other soft acoustic artists. I can’t get enough
Who are your top 5 influences and icons?
Parkway Drive
The Getaway Plan
Ben Howard
Jack Johnson
Matchbox 20 (Their first album “Yourself or Someone Like You” is a very important to me but their other stuff certainly up there)
When are you playing next?
19th of August at the Railway Club Darwin, we’ll be ready.
