WE WERE BABIES & WE WERE DIRTBAGS
OUT TOMORROW ON POLYVINYL RECORDS
Beach Slang’s James Alex recently announced his newest project, Quiet Slang, which features him playing solo with a contributing pianist and cellist. Today, you can stream the four song EP over at Consequence of Sound with a track-by-track explanation by Alex. Stream and read the track-by-track HERE.
About the Quiet Slang project, Alex says, “Most of the time, I’m caught in a tug-of-war between the gutter and the light, fighting to figure out where I fall. Look, all the best stuff is part-cracked and part-patched. The best humans are made the same. And that’s all this is-a love letter to all my friends who thought they were meant to die young. See?-we made it.”
Previously released tracks from the EP include “Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas” and “Thirteen“, of which Noisey said “the Slang version is a fitting homage to Alex Chilton’s original, swapping out the acoustic guitar for piano and cello to create a swirling, lullaby-style take on it.”
You can purchase the EP HERE. Stay tuned for a full length Quiet Slang announcement in the coming months!
