Stephen Hamm ‘Space Sister’ Premiere

by the partae
A lush and exotic tune, “Space Sister” is a song that exemplifies the overall vibe of the new record.  “It’s a song that was inspired by a woman who lived in El Cajon California, who lead a group of gentle people,” says Hamm.  “She taught them about being of service to others and to spread love and creativity throughout the galaxy.”  A seminal figure in Vancouver’s influential music scene, Stephen has played in a number of storied west coast acts; Nardwuar and The Evaporators, Canned Hamm and Slow. His new solo project focuses on the instrument that he has quickly mastered – the theremin.  An eclectic instrument unto itself, Theremin Man delves even further into the creative with an adventurous odyssey into psychedelic electronic worlds.  Combining his larger than life personality with the theremin and the synthesizer – Mr. Hamm takes you on a musical journey into new dimensions.
Words from Stephen Hamm on Space Sister

“Space sister is a song inspired by a woman who lived in El Cajon California who led a group of gentle people. She taughtthem about being of service to others and to  spread love and creativity throughout the galaxy. Her simple message resonates with me. These principles help to guide me through life. The video for Space Sister was shot by Vancouver filmmaker R.D. Cane. We tried to capture the spirit of the theremin and the spirit of inter-dimensional peace and understanding. All things that are very important to me.  I think we succeeded.”
