Melodic, melancholic and downright catchy-as-hell – Sleepy Gonzales have captured the attention of Vancouver’s music scene with their dynamic combination of 70’s punk ethos with the incandescent essence of the folk music movement. Their new single “Steady” encompasses all of that with its open lyrics and evocative rhythms. Formed by Beni and Christian Hobson-Dimas, the band prides itself on its weirdness and it’s bizarre twin energy that helps fuel their songs. The magnetic Allyson Lowry fronts the band with her ethereal voice which is only enhanced by Nick Moniz’s rhythmic bass.
Sleepy Gonzales first gained attention with the 2017 album Llover and the momentum continued with 2018’s Dayna EP . Since then they have embarked on a series of tours across Canada and BC, sharing stages with artists such as The Courtney’s, The Coat Hangers, Little Destroyer, Shannon and the Clams and It Looks Sad.
