Receiving its world premiere on triple jBreakfast this morning, Skegss share “Save It For The Weekend,” a new anthem for those who long for Friday night to come. The track – released via Loma Vista Recordings / Caroline Australia – is accompanied by a hilarious video which sees the boys checking out a Mad Max / western inspired film clip starring some actors who look suspiciously like themselves.
After wrapping up their last crazy US tour – the Skegss guys headed into the desert to record at the infamous Joshua Tree CA studio “Rancho De La Luna” (QOTSA, PJ Harvey Kurt Vile). Out of that session, “Save It For The Weekend” was born.
Formed in 2014, Skegss – which includes members Ben Reed (vocals, guitar), Toby Cregan (bass) and Jonny Lani (drums) – first hooked listeners with a series of EP’s, before releasing their riotous-yet-nostalgic sugar-rush of a debut album,My Own Mess(triple j Feature Album, #2 ARIA Chart Debut), including Hottest 100 voted single “Up In The Clouds” (#11).
