by the partae
On Saturday 26 of October, over 50 incredible artists descend on Fortitude Valley in a celebration of fashion, art, food, music and entertainment for an unmissable FREE event. Expanding on the stellar first announcement, The Hidden Lanes Festival today shares the final live acts that will be filling The Lanes with music this October, as well as an array of trails and workshops taking place during the festivities. Adding to the dozens of artists already announced, Far North Queensland's Greta Stanley will bring her smooth acoustic melodies and soaring, emotive lyricism to The Hidden Lanes Festival. Following the release of 'Kick' earlier this year and a collection of national shows, Greta Stanley will be sure to captivate audiences at The Lanes. Following their lauded BIGSOUND 2019 showcases, Wollongong guitar-pop duo Cry Club also join the stacked line up, with their galvanizing, defiant tunes like 'DFTM' and 'Two Hearts' in tow.  Also joining the line up are fellow BIGSOUND alumn, First Beige will be bringing their distinct blend of soul, jazz and disco-inspired textures with delicate funk grooves to The Lanes. The Brisbane six-piece have spent 2019 writing and releasing brand new music including their latest cut 'Desire', and will bring a live show guaranteed to make you groove. Also included in the second announcement are some incredible local and national acts including Concrete Surfers, Dream Coast, James Rigby, Greaves and  Nelipot. Music Industry College will present some of Brisbane's best and brightest up-and-coming musicians at The Hidden Lanes Festival, including Bonsai, Georgia Dutton, Don't Trip On The Wire, Krave, Mitch Salisbury, Selfish Sons and The Blockades. Pacific Avenue will also be dropping into The Lanes for MIC's Youth Program as part of their recently announced 'Strawberry Skies' national tour. In addition to the abundance of live music, visitors to the lanes can immerse themselves in an a multi-faceted range of experiences on offer as part of the festival's discovery trails - the fashion & beauty trail, the art & design trail, the heritage trail, the food & wine trail and the market trail.  A series of nineteen diverse masterclasses, including activities such as cookie decorating, cocktail making, festival braids, how to make dumplings and more, along with demonstrations and installations whilst being able to meet the maker behind the creations.  Whether you're into music, art, fashion, food or all of the above, you'll be sure to discover different at The Hidden Lanes Festival. Stay tuned to the festival's Facebook and Instagram for more updates and join us Saturday 26 October to celebrate everything that The Lanes have to offer!
