“Brooding and bruised music offers thick and warm sounds undercut by melancholy”– The Fader

“In just a handful of singles he has demonstrated a fiercely intelligent worldview and a depth of understanding to some seriously heavy issues that belies his young age”– HighSnobiety

“Still only 19 years old Osquello is blessed with boundless creativity, a natural imaginative sense that pushes back the barriers” Clash

“This is art made with breathless honesty – confounding and exciting.”– The Line of Best Fit

19 year old rapper, songwriter and producer Osquello, a.k.a Fabiano Lewis, is proud to release his debut EP ‘Good Morning Simulation’ via Practise Music. A startlingly assured collection from a young artist with limitless potential, blending hip-hop, indie and jazz with skill and ease. After some high profile collaborations with Clairo and Declan McKenna, ‘Good Morning Simulation’ is the sound of Osquello stepping into the limelight.

The EP begins with the sound of the simulation, immersing you into Osquello’s digital reality. As you get deeper into the music, complex themes such as solitude in creativity, isolation and finding love within the simulation rear their heads.

Previous singles ‘Finding Peace’ and ‘Tired Creature’ highlight this universal approach, with Osquello laying his feelings out for all to see: it’s this honesty which makes him such a unique and vital voice, allowing him to forge a genuine connection with fans. These early releases from Osquello have been supported across BBC 1xtra, BBC Radio 1, Spotify (New Music Friday) and saw him hailed one of NME‘s 100 artists to watch in 2019.

‘Landing in Scrizeena’ takes this a step further, adding more uptempo production with Osquello showcasing his skills as a rapper as well as a singer. It’s a remarkably confident track, demonstrating his versatility and lyrical dexterity.

Since day one Osquello has had a naturally inquisitive mind and a restless soul, always engaging with the larger subjects, relentlessly pursuing perfection. He has always been around music, his dad was a successful DJ and producer, inspiring young Osquello to start creating. Some of his earliest memories involve him tinkering with his dad’s musical equipment, learning how to make sounds and beats step-by-step, with this background mixed with his inquisitive nature there was no chance he was going to do anything else.

‘Good Morning Simulation’ is not the first step in his journey, but it may be the most important: it is a bold start for an artist that is constantly striving, unwilling to settle for less and put his mind to ideas grander than himself.  Get ready to hear more from him throughout 2019.

Osquello recently announced his EP headline show will be taking place 21st February at London’s Electrowerkz.
