RADIO 1’S BBC INTRODUCING TRACK OF THE WEEK ‘TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT’ PLAYED EVERY DAY THIS WEEK ON RADIO 1 DECEMBER LIVE DATES
“Another brilliant band from Sheffield breaking through at the moment” – HUW STEPHENS
Sheffield’s RedFaces round off an already incredible year with the news that their latest single ‘Take It Or Leave It’, released last month through Sony/RCA, has been chosen as BBC Radio 1’s ‘Introducing Track Of The Week’. The track will receive a play every day from tomorrow (Saturday 18th November) on 6 shows – starting with Alice Levine’s weekend afternoon show, where the band will also be interviewed.
After a storming performance at Community Festival this summer, support slots with DMA’s, and a headline tour, including a sold-out hometown show at Sheffield’s Plug, RedFaces kick off their final tour of the year in December (dates below).
It’s been a jam-packed year for RedFaces, including appearances at Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Kendall Calling and Truck to name but a few. With each gig their audience is rapidly growing, and the band are showing no signs of slowing down.
RedFaces are Harry Lyon, Isaac White, Charlie Yapp and Ryan Laycock. Four lads from Sheffield treading what was once a well-worn path, these days the road less travelled. The journey started at 2Fly studios in Sheffield, recording demos with Alan Smyth, the man behind the Arctic Monkey’s first ventures. Out of these sessions came the band’s first release ‘Katie Come Home’ in early 2015 – championed by BBC Introducing it also attracted the attention of the London A&R fraternity, eventually signing with RCA last year.
