Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there? I'm currently based in Melbourne. The music scene is lively and fresh with new talent popping up all the time! How did you first start playing music? I used to study ballet full time, and left at 16. At my new school I immediately enrolled in music performance and vocal lessons, and picked up guitar. It grew pretty quickly from there. How would you describe your sound/music that you play? My music is constantly evolving but I like to label it alternative pop. What's been happening recently? I've been writing, heaps. I also had my birthday recently and maybe had a little bit too much fun at my party. You've just released your new single 'Even When We Let It Go' what influenced the sound and songwriting for this track? Honestly, "Even When We Let It Go" was one of those songs that popped into my head and I had to pick up a guitar and write it immediately. There were a few production influences however, such as Jeremy Zucker, Vera Blue and Lauv. How did you go about writing 'Even When We Let It Go'? It just flowed out of me - I didn't have to think too much during the process! Where and when did you record and who with? I recorded the track with Sb90 (Stuart Le Brander) at his studio from April - June. How did you approach the songwriting for this track? For this song, I tried to be a bit blunt and direct, whilst painting pictures in the verses to really capture the audience. I wanted the words to feel and sound like they were falling off my tongue, so I was really picky with the rhythms to accompany my melodies. How do you usually go about writing music? Usually, I tend to dream up lyrics and melodies and write them down in the morning, and then I'll sit at the piano or with my guitar and start to piece together a chords progression that accompanies one or more of the melodies I like, and go from there! What programs/instruments did you use? I play piano and guitar, but also use Ableton Live to program and produce music. What do you have planned for 'Even When We Let It Go'? I plan to bring it on tour early next year!!!  Where can we listen/buy? You can listen to/buy "Even When We Let It Go" on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes. What do you like to do away from music? I love cooking, seeing my family, dog and friends, watching shows on netflix, baths, eating cheese and exploring nature. Who are you listening to at the moment? Lately I've been spinning Charli XCX, Hayley Kiyoko, Flume & Reo Cragun, Chelsea Cutler and Gryffin. What's planned for the remainder of 2019 going into 2020? For the rest of 2019 and start of 2020 i'm planning new releases and hopefully a tour!! Where and when are you playing next? No details yet, but stay tuned. Any secrets that you care to share? As a child I was the worlds biggest bookworm. Reading sessions could go for 12 hours and I made a point to choose reading after school instead of socialising. Favourite food and place to hangout? My favourite food is definitely pasta and my favourite place to hang out is definitely my bed, with parks/forests coming in a close second! Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube
