Melancholic house music is the result of much musical soul searching from Norwegian house star Finnebassen. Although he has been producing music and playing gigs in his hometown of Oslo for a long time, 2012 saw his first releases, gaining him huge global support and landing him at the top of the Beatport charts.

Today you will find Finnebassen regularly touring the world, playing everywhere from Europe to Asia, and Australia to USA. No doubt his impressive discography has played a role in his ascend to the top: Noir Music, Culprit, Warner Music, Supernature, Stil Vor Talent are just some of the in-demand labels who have release Finnebassen productions.

For those in the know Fin is one of the scene’s best kept secrets, but his successful run of late has resulted in him threatening to break through to a wider audience. Don’t miss out on seeing the Norwegian star in Australia.

Leaving his teenage genre hopping days behind him, 2008 saw a house music epiphany, as a deep rooted interest in electronic music began, bringing Finnebassen to the sound he relays today.

Finnebassen’s remix of Brandy track ‘Baby’ was picked up, and now soon to be released by UK based bloggers and label, The House of Disco. Another UK label, Electronique, have taken hold of his own production ‘If You Only Knew’ and provided remixes by Matt Fear, The Mekanism and Balcazar & Sordo. The second track to what promises to be an impressive EP is already being worked on by Finnebassen. Purp & Soul Records have also jumped on board, releasing another of his tracks ‘I’m In Love With You’. The guitar you hear on both tracks is Finn himself playing: a note to his true understanding of music.

Respecting the work of his peers, he lists artists such Maceo Plex, Solomun, Art Department and all of the major players in house music of today as his influences. But, it is his own version of bass heavy house by which he intends to impress, as he also holds residencies at massive Oslo night spots Jaeger and The Villa.
