Speaking about their signing with Kanine Records, Kay Quartararo shares “It took exactly .2 seconds to know we wanted to sign dust. Their music is immediate, yet very thoughtful. You can tell they have something they need to say and are not afraid to be emotional about it, which makes them incredibly refreshing. It’s kind of crazy how we can live clear across the globe and feel an instant connection. We can’t wait to see dust in this hemisphere, but they are set to storm Europe first.”
Rad Music Management’s Mark Bawden, who joins the team as co-manager shares, “Dan and I were fortunate enough to have been sent across their music last year and instantly connected to their sound. After having watched the bands live set and all becoming friends, we knew very quickly that working with the band is going to be something very special. With new music along the way as well as building a great team behind them we cannot wait to see what unfolds for the band in 2023.”
Plus Casey O’Shaughnessy from Select Music is elated to foster dust’s live show offering in Australia. She says “When I made my way into Stranded Bar at 12.30 am on my third day of Bigsound I had been heavily considering walking straight past the venue and onwards to bed, however as soon as Dust started playing, I knew I had made the right choice to stay. They absolutely blew me away and I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of their journey. I am proud to welcome them to the Select Music roster and look forward to guiding them through the next steps of their live career.”
Likewise, X-ray Touring‘s Shaun Faulkner says “Best band ive seen in years – DUST DUST DUST!”. As they prepare for the year ahead, dust will be joining Hockey Dad on their continental tour of the UK and Europe this April, alongside the upcoming Mountain Goat Valley Crawl alongside The Buoys and The Terrys, amongst others (see all tour routing information below). Rest assured, dust are setting their sights on a contemporary answer to their hometown’s historic origins.
