Myke Bogan Releases Video From Upcoming “Pool Party” LP for Eyrst
For Myke Bogan, music is a journal-a place to work out life’s hard times, reflect on the moment, and conquer the present. Tackling a range of emotions, Myke Bogan’s upcoming LP, Pool Party (out August 18th via EYRST) plays like a snapshot of the artist’s mind, leading the listener on a path of retrospection, introspection, and self-actualization. The new single “Take the Night Off,” which features vocals from soulful EYRST label-mate Blossom and an accompanying video shot and directed by long-time EYRST visual collaborator Tim Slew, is available now (see HipHopDX debut)

Bogan is not afraid to depart from the tone of this opening tracks however. Tracks like “Winding Roads,” which features additional vocals from EYRST label-mate Ripley Snell; and “Dashboard,” show that Bogan still harbors much of the party style his fans have come to expect from the LA/Portland artist. Not to mention his confident, arrogant side, which comes through on the menacing track “AAA,” and “Gravy,” which features vocals from Boston native Michael Christmas.
EYRST producer and past collaborator Neill Von Tally helps to bring out the frustrated and dejected side of Bogan with his ambient, lofty, production on tracks like “Not The,” “Sunn,” and the album’s closing track “Sailor Jerry,” which ends the project with a departing breath of hope.
Recorded primarily at EYRST Studios with a PBR, a game of FIFA, and a looped beat, Bogansticks true to his writing and recording process. Pool Party is Bogan’s third project released via EYRST, which include Casino Carpet and Rare Treat-a collaborative EP with The Last Artful, Dodgr. You can also find Dodgr featured on the album as well, as she provides vocals on the track “Top Gun.”
Past Bogan releases hit the number 14 spot on iTunes Top 100 and the Bandcamp hip-hop charts the day it dropped, and he’s been covered by AllHipHop.com, The Source, Flood, Okayplayer.com, HipHopDX, Pigeons and Planes, Hip Hop Weekly and even XXL’s The Break. He has successfully set the precedent for his stylized visuals and dynamic delivery, coupled with a charismatic and fiery persona, earning him more than 800,000 video views and landing on the same stage as hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and more. Myke recently played Upstream, Harvest Fusion Festival, and Volume Music Festival, and fall tour plans are currently firming up.
