Overnight, acclaimed Melbourne psychedelic jazz outfit Mildlife took home Best Jazz Album at the 35th annual ARIA Awards for their 2020 LP Automatic.

Debuting at #8 on the ARIA Album Charts upon release, Mildlife’s second record made a step-change from their 2017 debut, Phase. More disciplined, directional and arguably more danceable than its predecessor, Automatic has garnered acclaim from NME AU (named in their Best Australian Albums of 2020), Mixdown (“their most immersive listening experience to date”), Clash, MTV AU, Brooklyn Vegan and more, including four star reviews from The Sydney Morning Herald (“a skillful juggle of sonic ingredients”) and The Music, alongside a four-and-a-half star review in Rolling Stone AU (“the record of a lifetime”).
