What is your name and role?
I’m a dancer/dj, meaning, during my sets, i come out, freestyle, and dance to choreographed routines to my own songs (something not done yet in the EDM field.) Also CEO, Co-Founder Of The Neighborhood Sound Collective.
How did you start?
I’ve been a choreographer for a well known vaudville-Cirq company, Lucent Dossier Experience. My very first festival, (EDM or ANYTHING in general.) was Lightning In a Bottle. That. Changed. EVERYTHING. From then on I saved money for everything Dj and music production related, and dove head first.
Where are you based?
I’m everywhere man, lol. Move to LA from Houston, Tx, Now I’m in Nelson, British Columbia. Probably gonna move to Bali or some shit…
Please give an example of your music writing process?
Luckily, I identify with music as a dancer, So dissecting different sounds, instruments and where they go is somewhat the fun part. When it comes to a “process”, I literally just check in with myself and see how I’m feeling that day. I’m someone who acts off emotions. If I’m crabby, some sound effect I’m my song my be just obnoxious as hell! but that’s how I feel. If I’m sad, lonely, Ill set the mood with some ambiance, a more whiner sound. All depends on me, and the time of day.
What are you working on right now?
What am I NOT working on is the real question. (haha) Right now, I’m working on an EP, and a visual Album. I want this album to pave the way. Hoping to have it released as an episode installment. weather that’s Youtube Red or Netflix, whoever agrees first. Also, getting the label started. we’re calling ourselves The Neighborhood Sound Collective. EDM DJ’s Producers, and dancers are a part of this collective, and we just want to change the way people view a regular label vs something a little more artistic. The artists coming out of this collective are far from one trick ponies. Some have already been featured in EDM blogs, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of them towards the end of the year and into the new year.
What is your gear setup?
Right now, I use an Akai apc40 Controller, and my laptop of course. I keep getting shit from all these other DJs trying to tell me what to use. I’m like”Look bruh, you got 6 grand for me? no? ok cool, thanks.” haha. I’m sure i’ll use CDJs eventually, but not when other people tell me to, I don’t play that.
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
Dance, create, eat (a lot) study different genres of music I wouldn’t normally listen to. Gym. Cook a new recipe without burning the kitchen, let alone the rest of the damn house.
How would you describe your music genre?
“Whatever the F**K you feel like that day”, Music.

Learning every day…

Releasing as many singles as possible leading up to my EP

How did you get into music?
Lucent Dossier Experience and Do Lab really opened me up to a new world of music… I just never looked back after…
