Jody Glenham ‘Friday Night Lights’ Premiere

by the partae
Called ‘One of the local music scene’s MVP’ by the Vancouver Sun, Jody Glenham fuses hazy vintage tones with modern songwriting that wistfully drifts the listener into a vivid altered reality. Initially drawing comparisons to 90's band Mazzy Star and the more contemporary Sharon Van Etten - Jody leaves both listeners and audiences spellbound. Her new single, 'Friday Night Lights' is a stunner! Produced by Louise Burns, the track sizzles with a Cocteau Twins vibe underneath the surface while still very much sounds like Jody Glenham.  With her last EP hitting #1 on CiTR’s 101.9 FM’s charts, several of her tunes finding a home on multiple TV series - and even having a shoe named after her by John Fluevog himself - Glenham (born on Friday the 13th of all days) is set to stun us again with some new music on the horizon.  'War on This World' was the first single off of her new record, 'Mood Rock', set for release in early 2020. Collaborating with producers Raymond Richards (Local Natives, LCD Soundsystem) and Louise Burns (Gold & Youth, Lillix) - it's sure to be brilliant.  "Friday Night Lights is a late-summer anthem which captures the sentiment of hometown nostalgia.. end-of-the season mass exodus imploding on a small town.. the glowing lights of the highway.. the closing night of the local fair. Jody Glenham's vocals soar above a Chariots of Fire-like synth opening, conjuring up images of sunset lit ferris wheel rides, the home team returning to the field and the one that got away. This track was gloriously produced by Louise Burns (Lillix, Gold & Youth)." https://www.instagram.com/summerwitch/ https://twitter.com/jodygthatsme
