SUPPORT FOR '4YRLV' "The band have evolved to become one of the country's most celebrated rock acts - and one of Perth's defining artists full-stop". Pilerats (AUS) Added to Spotify's New Music Friday (AU/NZ), Rock Out. and Local Noise Premiered on triple j's Home & Hosed Following on from the release of their new EP ‘4YRLV’, Australian rock mainstays Gyroscope have today revealed the accompanying video clip for the title track – shot and directed by the band themselves and Chaddy Woo, with production design by Chloe Campbell. The DIY clip was shot at Gyroscope’s own The Skullery - a recording studio and creative working space located in Perth suburb Malaga. Using puppets and a set borrowed from the local primary school, they created characters to loosely represent the lyrics wrote by lead singer Dan Sanders. The concept surrounds subjects such as anti-consumerism, caring for ‘Mother Earth’ and what he explains as the “next distraction” probably being aliens via Trump. Sanders talks about the process and inspiration: “We had a drink and smoke, chucked some tunes on and we all started cutting out, painting, sticking, fucking with the lights to see what looked cool. Then we chucked black socks on our hands, hit playback a few times, tried some stuff and most of it worked which was a bonus. Brad nailed the characters movements, Zok was working the lights and I tried my best behind the lens. However, if it wasn't for Chloe's art skills as a talented drawer, we would have been pretty screwed really”. Latest single ‘4YRLV’ has received glowing support from the likes of triple j, RTR FM, Red FM, 4ZZZ, SYN FM and Aussie Music Weekly. The track has also been strongly supported by Spotify, being added to playlists New Music Friday (AU/NZ), Rock Out. and Local Noise. Online the EP has been championed by Pilerats, Music Feeds, The Music, Hysteria Magazine, HEAVY Magazine and Wall Of Sound. Since their inception in 1997, Gyroscope have become an undeniable mainstay within the Australian music scene, with a fanbase that spans across the young and old. They’ve continually released critically-praised records, including their third studio album ‘Breed Obsession’ that debuted at no.1 on the ARIA charts. By August in the year of release, the album was certified gold by ARIA. Multiple tracks have also featured in the ARIA charts and triple j’s esteemed Hottest 100. Over their career, the group have also performed at festivals Big Day Out, Groovin’ The Moo and toured with the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Blink-182, Brand New, Fall Out Boy and Dashboard Confessional. ‘4YRLV’ is available worldwide now GYROSCOPE 4YRLV TOUR THU 24 OCT | LION ARTS, ADELAIDE SA Tickets on-sale here FRI 25 OCT | PELLY BAR, FRANKSTON VIC Tickets on-sale here SAT 26 OCT | MAX WATTS, MELBOURNE VIC Tickets on-sale here SUN 27 OCT | SCENE & HEARD FESTIVAL, CAIRNS QLD with Wolfmother, You Am I and Jebediah Tickets on-sale here THU 31 OCT | CROWBAR, SYDNEY NSW Tickets on-sale here FRI 1 NOV | UC HUB, CANBERRA ACT Tickets on-sale here SAT 2 NOV | SCENE & HEARD FESTIVAL, BRISBANE QLD with The Dandy Warhols, British India, You Am I and Jebediah Tickets on-sale here FRI 8 NOV | JACK RABBIT SLIMS, PERTH WA Tickets on-sale here Click to watch '4YRLV' FOLLOW GYROSCOPE FACEBOOK | TWITTER | INSTAGRAM | SOUNDCLOUD | SPOTIFY | APPLE MUSIC
