GREG JAMIE SHARES CRAZY TIME ALBUM STREAM
DEBUT SOLO ALBUM OUT JANUARY 19 ON ORINDAL RECORDS
“I know I am trying at a narrative — a false alternative universe — ghost choirs, circular melodies that are supposed to last forever.” – Greg Jamie
Greg Jamie is sharing an advance stream of his new album Crazy Time, a collection of feral folk songs inspired by adventure, solitude, and the brutal New England winters. Impose, who premiered the stream, say, “Greg Jamie’s Crazy Time is a hymnal made for our current time of upheavals, unrest & odd opportunities to achieve a sense of infinite enlightenment.”
Greg Jamie formerly fronted the bands O’Death and Blood Warrior. Crazy Time is his debt solo record and is out January 19 on Orindal Records. It is available for pre-order now.

MORE ON GREG JAMIE:
Crazy Time is the first solo album by Maine-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Greg Jamie. Combining the textural with the tuneful, Crazy Time echoes the dark, eerie qualities of Jamie’s previous work (with his bands O’Death and Blood Warrior), while inhabiting a sonic space all its own. Traditional folk melodies contrast cold, synthetic textures, generating an unsettling tension between intimacy and mystery. The atmosphere evokes both the weight of cold, New England winters and the ethereality of a sci-fi dreamscape. Jamie’s singing is in peak form, deftly balancing energy and tone with delicate vulnerability. Lyrical themes confront notions of disappointment, inevitability, mental illness and adventure. Elements of the uncanny and playful are embraced in order to avoid predictable patterns and dismantle preconceptions of loner-folk. In his first official solo effort, Greg Jamie has crafted a singular work of disorienting beauty.
Crazy Time was recorded over the course of each season in 2016 with the help of Colby Nathan. The majority of the album was recorded in the comfort of Jamie’s home in Portland, Maine. Greg Hartunian added overdubs and mixed the album in Los Angeles. The album was mastered by Caleb Mulkerin (Big Blood, Cerberus Shoal) in South Portland, Maine. Orindal Records will release Crazy Time on vinyl, cassette & digital formats on January 19, 2018.
