Electronic Duo, Modern Measure Releases Latest EP, “Happy Place”

(October 4, 2019) Atlanta-based, live electronica duo, Modern Measure, invites you to escape the constraints of everyday life and go down the path to their latest EP release, “Happy Place,” via 1320 Records. With ranging vibrant melodies, tasteful drum, future bass and more, this 5-track diverse body of work is sure to provide something special for old and new fans to come.

Since formation in 2013, Kyle Holly and Charlie Thornton of Modern Measure, have shaped a unique hybrid project with their fusion of live organic instrumentation and artfully crafted music production, which set themselves apart from the electronic norm. With a tasteful shift in their sound, from glitchy break electronica to a more pulsing flow with shimmering synths, “Happy Place” will introduce listeners to the duos diverse electronic depth.

“Happy Place touches on all the genres that have resonated with me throughout my life and has created a true sound for Modern Measure,” said Kyle Holly of Modern Measure “It’s amazing as a musician to hear something in your head, then be able to sit down and put all of the sounds together to create what you envisioned. Making something out of nothing in this sense is a real Happy Place.”

Atlanta is a major influential player when it comes to the completion of this project, including the distinctive groove and bass guitar groove laid down on ‘Cherry Blossom’ by producer Daily Bread, lyrics from MC Obeah on ‘Blazer,’ and artwork by visual artist and graphic designer Wolfdog, a member of ABV agency.

The pair have come from sold-out performances at intimate venues in the heart of ATL to touring nationally all across the United States. They have shared the stage with friends and scene stalwarts such as STS9, Big Gigantic, The Disco Biscuits, Manic Focus, The Floozies, and SunSquabi.
