Christopher Goffard, the creator of wildly popular true crime podcast Dirty John, has announced a series of live shows across the UK next Spring.
The dates will offer a rare chance to hear the prizewinning writer and journalist as he discusses the making of the podcast, his experience researching the sociopathic con-artist at its center, and the dynamics of psychological control.

With more than10 million downloads and a month atop the iTunes charts, Dirty John is one of the biggest podcast successes of 2017 and was produced in partnership between the Los Angeles Times and Wondery.
The six-part series is about seduction, deception, forgiveness, denial, and ultimately, survival. The story follows Debra Newell, a successful interior designer in Southern California, who meets a man named John Meehan on an over-50 dating site and quickly marries him. But John harbors dark secrets and an obsession with vengeance and control, as she and her family discover to their horror.
Christopher Goffard, writer and host of the Dirty John podcast, is a veteran reporter at the Los Angeles Times and lives in Southern California. One of North America’s premier longform narrative writers, he was recently called “the reigning king of serialized journalism.” He shared in the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and has twice been a Pulitzer finalist for feature writing. Reviewing his first novel, Snitch Jacket, the Guardian said that Goffard “writes like an angel and plots like a demon.” Goffard is also the author of the non-fiction You Will See Fire: A Search for Justice in Kenya.
