DIDIRRI REFLECTS ON HUMAN VS MACHINE IN ‘OBSOLETE MACHINE’  ACCOMPANIED BY A STUNNING VIDEO
Didirri today takes introspection towards the evolving nature of human vs machine in new single ‘Obsolete Machine’. The single is accompanied by a stunning music video that plays on this theme of acceptance, set in a forest oasis with Didirri attempting to hold onto memories and the submission to the unavoidable.

Written by Didirri and produced by Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Little May, Jess Locke), the track is awash with colour, with sonorous guitar, uplifting horn arrangements and Didirri’s emotionally charged vocals, uniting to explore the concept of technology’s effect on the human condition.

Didirri expands, “We all eventually return to nature. It’s inevitable. The only thing we have left to do now is to master something, anything; in the knowledge that it may be pointless. However, that does not detract from life’s beauty. Meaning is a human addition to life not anything to do with its finite utility. We are born out of nature. This is a privilege we so often take for granted.

Many people are scared of the coming AI revolution. Scared that it may make human beings obsolete. I propose that we are already obsolete if you view life as some kind of end result we are all striving for. AI will merely highlight that life is about love of the game and not, in fact, winning.”

The visual accompaniment to the single, directed by Australian filmmaker Jesse Leaman, sees Didirri struggle with this theme of acceptance, with its environmental focus inviting audiences into the emotions of a person trying to maintain their humanity and sense of self.

‘Obsolete Machine’ is Didirri’s second original single released via Liberation Records, following ‘Begin Again’ which saw support from the likes of NME, MILKY and Happy Mag, as well as a remix from fellow label companion Gordi. This, in combination with a stunning rendition of ABBA’s iconic ‘The Winner Takes It All’ and tours spanning across UK and USA, shows no slowing down for the folk singer-songwriter.
