“[‘Ten Feet Tall’ is] a song that I love..great songwriter. I look forward to much, much more from him.”
NPR Music, All Songs Considered

“Hickey pedals a nice line in sentimental and woozy indie-pop.”

“[Ten Feet Tall] sings about strawberry moons and shoebox houses on this pensive indie rock anthem.”

“[On No Good At Lying] The track’s lyrics flit through escapist dreamed-up dimensions, where far-off landscapes and long-gone relatives seem palpable.”
The Line of Best Fit

“Hickey’s voice pure and earnest with its youthful cracks”

Of the song, which features Bridgers on backing vocals, Hickey says: “This song is about escaping, whether it be into a fantasy, a delusion, a dream or a relationship. There’s a beauty and a darkness in the ability to do that. The video directors Seth and Isaac Calvin were really able to tap into that and create an environment that captured that weightless feeling of escaping from reality . “Charlie Hickey shares video for ‘No Good At Lying’
