The duo hit the sands of Playa d’en Bossa this summer to take action against plastic pollution.
Canadian duo BLOND:ISH aka Vivie-Ann and Anstascia have been spearheading a sustainable raving concept ever since a lightbulb moment at a show in Warung a few years ago, where a beautiful closing set sunrise moment was followed by the devastating scenes of plastic bottles and litter. This has since been a topic very close to their hearts, and one that they believe passionately in taking action on.
‘Back in Ibiza August 2018, we got together some friends and local residents to do a Beach Clean in Playa d’en Bossa. This was just a tiny step to help take some action on Ibiza’s plastic problem. This video shows a little of what went down. Big loves to everyone who got involved and helped bring this together, and to all the people it inspired to do on their own at home! We felt the ripple effect!’
Vivie-Ann just spoke about this topic in detail at ADE Green – the pioneering conference on sustainability, innovation and social change in the music industry – as part of a panel on how artists can empower their community to create change, alongside Tala Mortada, Dave Clarke, Sam Feldt and Goldfish’s Dominic Peters.
The beach clean event saw them partner with International Music Summit, Ibiza Preservation Fund, Casita Verde, Beachouse, Woomoon, alongside activist Dylan Blue and other island locals and friends.
