Singer, songwriter and producer ABRYNZ, from Whadjuk country, Perth, is set to release her first single of the year titled Moombaki with Della Rae Morrison & Kobi Arthur Morrison, taken from her upcoming debut EP Time. Set for release on Friday 8th February 2023, Moombaki describes the life-force connection between the spiritual and physical worlds on land, sea and sacred sites; electronically fused with the traditional sounds of First Nations’ ancient tongue. The single was created by talent spanning decades and combining experiences including ABRYNZ, Pat Oakley, Tori Oakley (Mulgana woman), Della Rae Morrison and Kobi Arthur Morrison (Noongar / Bibbulmun). Connecting the Songlines through the elements, Moombaki holds a dynamic energy, further showcasing ABRYNZ as a producer to watch this year with her unique soundscapes; aptly named ‘electronic dance hyperactivity divergence’.

Building upon her recent single Desire, ABRYNZ is set to release her debut EP in early March 2023, breaking genre boundaries with hard-hitting drops, euphoric builds and compelling themes of expression and identity. ABRYNZ has previously received support from audiences and industry alike, collecting streams of 10k and growing, and placement on community stations nationwide.

In alignment with music releases and live shows, ABRYNZ runs a not-for-profit organisation, Boss Arts Creative highlights emerging First Nations artists. She approaches her work with passion and the fiercest belief that music can not only change an atmosphere but can also change lives.

ABRYNZ is set to release Moombaki with collaborators, Della Rae Morrison & Kobi Arthur Morrison on Friday 8th February 2023.

Artist Quote
“Moombaki was written as a song line, that describes the connection between our spiritual and physical worlds for land and sea and sacred sites. Our people believe that the land, sky, water and its people are inseparable; where all elements of our natural environment (including people) are believed to possess a life force, which Aboriginal people must protect because the health and wellbeing of our people is dependant on the condition of our ancestral lands and water bodies.” – Pat Oakley, Mulgana woman from Gathaagudu (Shark Bay)

“The rhythmic sound of Moombaki, meaning “where the river meets the sky” in Bibbulmun language, is electronically fused with the traditional sounds of First Nations ancient tongue. Connecting the songlines through the elements, you will experience life force through this dynamic ABRYNZ original”
