In anticipation of the release of his much talked-about, eponymous debut album this Friday, Shock Machine – aka the kaleidoscopic pop-tinged solo project from former Klaxons frontman James Righton – today reveals a self-directed video for Shock Machine album track “Strange Waves.” Starring Righton’s trademark red Gucci suit, the video is available to watch HERE. It continues Righton’s love affair with the legendary fashion brand, after he modeled (and DJ’d) alongside Savages’ Jehnny Beth and Dirt Hand’s Arun Roberts at Gucci’s Resort 2018 show in Florence.

Shock Machine has also premiered an exclusive edit of current single “Unlimited Love” today. The “Unlimited Love (3AM Edit)” takes the original into peak time, Saturday night territory and can be heard right now HERE. Shock Machine previously announced the ‘Unlimited Love’ single with a video collaboration between Righton himself and legendary video maker Sophie Muller (Beyonce, Coldplay, Sade, Gwen Stefani), which was launched via The FADER. James Righton recently chatted with the New York Post about the album, his days in the Klaxons and music habits of his wife Keira Knightly. Read the full interview HERE.

Both “Strange Waves” and “Unlimited Love” feature on Shock Machine’s debut album, released this Friday via Marathon Artists. Also featuring previous singles “Shock Machine,” “Open Up The Sky” and “Lost In The Mystery,” Shock Machinewas recorded in the south of France with producer by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Haim), and mixed by Ben H. Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective, Deerhunter). It also features artwork by Rob Carmichael, famed for his work with the likes of Animal Collective, Panda Bear and Dirty Projectors. Released via Marathon Artists (home to Courtney Barnett, Jagwar Ma and Baaba Maal among others), the album is a collection of timeless pop music that embraces inspiration from decades of off-kilter greats – from Todd Rundgren and Dennis Wilson, to early Paul McCartney and Roxy Music – but reimagines them though an expansive, psychedelic 21st century lens to conjure up something truly modern; in James’ own words, “Elton John’s Benny & the Jets on acid.”
