Dandenong Market is celebrating Māori new year Matariki with an event on Sunday 25 June featuring performances, activities and New Zealand street food.
Matariki is the Māori name for the Pleiades cluster of stars which rise in early June, heralding the start of a new year. Matariki is a time to connect with, and give thanks to the land, sea and sky. It is also a time for the community to come together and celebrate.
