Let’s make cycling cool in Christchurch! This popular event is always on the longest night of the year
The theme this year is – be bright – be cool – ride a bike
Let’s help make cycling cool in Christchurch!

The purpose is to brightly support safe cycling infrastructure in the new Christchurch, for commuters, kids riding to school and for all recreational cyclists. And to be cool – very cool.
Meet inside the Park at the Armagh Street Mickle Gates from 5pm for a 5.30pm start.
This is a family-friendly event but organisers urge that you ride with your children as it is pretty dark after 5.30pm.
Bling out your bike, helmet and person with as many lights as you can. Prizes for various categories including the brightest bike, of course! And new this year, thanks to Bikewise: swag!
Our bike light ride starts at the Hagley Park Mickle gates ( where Armagh st meets Park Terrace) and we ride counter clockwise around the park on the footpath or road – your choice. Afterwards we will adjourn to to Fiddlesticks bar and other local eateries for a beer or hot chocolate and discuss how to help make Christchurch a world class safe cycling city!
Event will be held rain or snow or wind or hail or a nice warm evening. ( in case of really severe weather, an announcement will be posted here by 4pm on the 21st)
