FEATURING SON LITTLE, JIM JAMES, BEN BRIDWELL, MACY GREY, K.FLAY, GLASS ANIMALS & MORE

Earlier this week DSARDY unveiled the first song from his forthcoming multi-instrumentalist project. The track “Step Ahead” features the vocals of acclaimed Philadelphia soul singer Son Little. And now the startling and cinematic video has been revealed. Watch here. Embed below.

Directed by Dan Huiting with The Uprising CreativeStereogum describes the video as “following a slick Patrick Bateman type who deals death and destruction in the form of what looks like a gold version of the chrome the War Boys huff in Mad Max: Fury Road.” Sardy says of the video, “We got to burn some cars. Always fun. Haven’t burned cars since my misspent childhood in Brooklyn.”
One of the most accomplished producers in music over the past two decades, having worked on seminal albums for iconic acts including Johnny CashOasisLCD SoundsystemBand of Horses andSpoon, this is Dave Sardy‘s most indefatigable and forthright move yet. He calls it a call-to-arms manifesto. The musician’s weapon of choice? A subversive, multi-disciplinary collaborative art project that aims to bring truth to power. A meditation on the “giant black tsunami” of cultural chaos and information overload he sensed bubbling up the last few years that’s now upon us. A response to what he calls the “dada of word salad propaganda” with which we’ve been relentlessly pummeled.
